Sharing Faith, Building Community
Name: Pastor Rick TettauPosition: Associate Pastor
Held Since: July 2008
Responsibilities: As an Ordained Deacon serving as the Associate Pastor my responsibilities include leading worship primarily as the liturgist. On Tuesdays and Fridays I visit people in the hospitals, nursing facilities, and their homes. I support the Common Cup churches by providing leadership during our Wednesday night program and through mission trips. Lastly, I am working to develop mission partnerships in the Xenia community. Personal History: I grew up along the shores of Lake Erie in Port Clinton, OH. After high school graduation I attended The Ohio State University where I majored in Marketing Education. After college I worked two years at COSI (the Center of Science & Industry) before entering seminary at The Methodist Theological School in Ohio. While attending seminary I served the Granville Centenary United Methodist Church as Director of Christian Education. I completed my Master of Arts in Christian Education in 1998. In 2000 my wife and I moved to Kettering to begin a new appointment at Church of the Cross United Methodist as Associate Pastor. During this time I took classes part time at United Theological Seminary and completed my Master of Divinity in 2004. I am excited to now be a part of Faith Community United Methodist and the Common Cup community. My wife, Diane, and I enjoy living in Xenia with our two girls, Isabel and Louisa.
