Responsibilities: As Bell Choir Director, Jim directs the Adult Bell Choir that practices Wednesdays at 6:15, the Children/Youth Bell Choir that practices Wednesdays at 4:30 and 5:15.  All of these choirs participate in various worship services throughout the year.
Personal Information: Jim has a degree in music education from Denison University in Granville, Ohio where he studied piano, trombone, conduction and music education.  Post-graduate studies have been at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey; University of Minnesota, Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and Ohio Dominican College.  Before serving at Faith Community, he served as Director of Music at Second Presbyterian Church in Newark, Ohio and served as an organist or pianist at various churches in the Central Ohio area.  In addition to his Work at Faith Community Methodist Church, Jim has a very diverse music performance background having performed either as a soloist, director, assistant director, pianist, accompanist or trombonist for musical theatre, orchestra, big band, concert band, marching band, jazz combo, rock band, gospel choir, brass choirs, trombone choir, brass quartet, college or high school concert choirs in almost any genre of music ranging through classical, avant garde, jazz, pop, rock, musical theatre, dixieland, opera and sacred music.  He is currently a special education  teacher in the Xenia Community Schools and was formerly the Choir Director at Central Middle School in Xenial. Jim has been a resident of Xenia since 1996.
